Carson discovered he was starting to hate Colonel Sheppard. He watched how Rodney and John interacted with each other, and felt a stab of betrayal each time Rodney flashed John one of the smiles that were once for Carson alone. They would good naturedly bicker and snark at each other in a way that Carson was an outsider to. After off-world missions, Rodney would tell Carson about the adventures he’d had with John. Carson would listen politely, seemingly interested in Rodney’s stories, while his resentment grew.

Then Rodney came back addicted to the Wraith enzyme, delirious, and Carson’s heart turned to ice. John had put Rodney in mortal danger, yet again. During withdrawal, Rodney said that Carson was actually jealous that Rodney had the chance to go off-world while Carson was stuck in Atlantis. Rodney somehow had hit the truth, although Carson denied it. Later Rodney had accepted that what he’d said was something conjured by his delusions, and apologized. Carson acted like everything was normal, as caring and attentive towards his lover as ever, while resenting the developing relationship between Rodney and John.

Carson didn’t know how much longer he’d be able to tolerate John being Rodney’s newest obsession.

Ouch. I'm glad I'm not John cause I would hate to be on Carson's bad side. *points to icon*

Funny how we have the same idea about Carson... *points at icon and grins*

In this scenario I'd be less worried on John's behalf because of angry gun-wielding Carson and more worried because of passive-aggressive "that's all the morphine I can safely prescribe, lad" Carson the next time he gets injured in the field. Or possibly because of mad scientist retrovirus-happy Carson, for whose work John has been guinea pig #1.

Uhh, I'd know nothing about the revenge of medical personnel...nope, never been guilty of that. John should definitely be afraid of "I'm gonna have to set this leg before we get ye back to the city, an' with that head injury I canna give ye anything for the pain." Aligning a limb in the field minus pain meds is sometimes necessary and never fun for the patient. Glad I was always the one doing the aligning and splinting. Fingers are bad enough with no meds.
